I met this individual on an email Listserv. She told me,
“I have a special chair. To transform it would be powerful because it’s so loaded”
I was struck by the gravity of this object. Emblematic of a human  sitting there stagnant.
In a body, we use something inert: Titanium//Porcelain. This repair is inspired by that logic.
Brass sutures and rods bring back function and highlight what used to be broken.
“In many cases the judgment that something is irreparable is not straightforward,
and the declaration of irreparability represents the result of struggles over when,
where, and how to use our reparative resources” (Quote: Elizabeth Spelman).
